ICT allows your child to reach for the sky

Why do we teach ICT in Primary Education?

ICT embraces the many technologies that enable students to receive information and communicate or exchange information with others (Jones, 2014).

ICT can be used to perform traditional classroom tasks more efficently (Finger, Russell, Jamieson-Proctor & Russell, 2007).

It is a subject that didn't exist in your parents' world but will be more important than any in your children's world (Looper, 2014).

Teaching students ICT skills and knowledge will allow them to become familiar with technology they will learn to use ICT equipment, and software for tasks..

Students who learn through ICT will have a greater chance of becoming creative, innovative and resourceful, problem solvers (ACARA, 2012).

Using and learning about ICT is more than just clicking a button or having information at their finger tips.  It enables students to think deeply and logically, and obtain and evaluate evidence in a disciplined way (ACARA, 2012).

ICT can be used to maximise student learning.

Incorporating ICT into lessons helps to keep students interested.....they want to learn.
